A Lesson in Saying "Whoa"

My first lesson on Darr! He was very good as usual, but got hyper as soon as we started cantering. He didn’t want to stop! Erin actually suggested we might need a stronger bit on him because he didn’t respond for very long to “stop”. Nevertheless, he was a good boy and we did a bit of canter work and that went well. He also got his feet done today, so he’s feeling good. After the lesson, he befriended the barn cat who decided to go to sleep in his hay. After vigorous sniffing, the cat finally ran away (Darr’s a curious guy!). We fed him lots of treats and his mud fever is going away. His leg also seems to be doing well, as we’ve been icing it lots and it hasn’t felt abnormally hot or hard or anything.
That is all for today!
